The congress is being jointly organized by the Department of Chemistry at Chulalongkorn University, the International Union of Advanced Materials and the Chinese Advanced Materials Society. After two successful congresses in 2011 (Jinan) and 2013 (Zhenjiang), this internationally acclaimed conference now leaves China for the first time also to reflect its international support. I will do my best that this coming 3rd AM congress will be as successful as its two predecessors: as an international platform for exchange and update of information as well as networking amongst the scientists and researchers in different areas of Materials Science and Chemistry.

The AM2016 will comprise three plenary lectures of top scientists in the field of Materials science, and a range of oral and poster contributions. The conference will include the following topics (but not be limited to them):
