Lecturer/Senior Lecturer Medicinal Chemistry

Department

The Division of Chemistry and Environmental Science has experienced sustained growth both in the numbers of undergraduate students studying across its network of courses, alongside increased income from academic enterprise and research activities.

To support your teaching, enterprise and research activities the Division has access to ‘state of the art’ facilities which include a wide range of chemical instrumental equipment including a Mass Spectrometry Service Laboratory (LCMS), and NMR Service Laboratory (400 MHz).

Role

The appointee will deliver creative teaching content and materials on Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, and Medicinal and Biological Chemistry degree programmes.

The role also requires a degree of initiative, creativity and judgement to undertake research and scholarly activities.

Ideal Candidate

The Ideal candidate will possess a PhD in Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry or appropriate subject area. They should be able to align their research with our Biomedical Science Research Group.

For example an appropriate research area would include development of small molecule inhibitors as biomimetics for existing or novel therapeutics for treatment of cancers, cardio vascular systems or dementia.
